baby fever

I hope my mother in law will be proud of me... here is why:
Instead of buying fabric and just going ahead and sew some random things together, this time around I did it HER WAY!
I bought the fabric, washed it, dried it, ironed it, measured it (twice), cut it (once) and started sewing after a plan (that i made in my head). I did not use pins except for the red sides, but I'm not ready to be a perfectionist just yet ;)

I found this quilt online that I really liked and wanted for my girls-room. I decided that in my case creating a duvet cover would make more sense because I already have the duvet from my boys' crib set and because I'm terrible at quilting and because this way it will be a little softer! ;)
I basically stole almost the whole design and even went shopping with the picture in my hand. How pathetic, I know, but why re-invent the wheel - or, why try to create something more unique if I like what I see?
And yes, I even used Wrick-wracks... I guess that's it... I'm officially cheesy now. And I don't even care! ;)

So I did all of this in one afternoon, including the shopping, washing yada yada.
Without meaning to sound arrogant, I will admit that i'm proud of my work. Proud because I actually did not have to undo even one step. (Very rare in my case). It's easy sewing, I know, but ya, I can't wait to use this little set for my baby girl that should arrive around the 2nd of February 2013.

Happy almost 21 weeks pregers to me. (It's a celebration because that means I'm MORE than halfway there ;)
